I just installed Vista and Office 2007 Beta on a friends new Dell Inspiron (6600 or so) notebook. The brand new Inspiron with XP Pro OEM crashed, no recovery CD - Dell said it will send the set blah blah - no WiFi card, ethernet, USB drivers... a mess. I just inserted the Vista CD and installed w/o any problems, Vista found some drivers for all hardware - including ethernet and WiFi; Vista beats Dell's Download/Support site. Office 2007 Beta (we skept Outlook and Access) also installed w/o a glitch. Nice job, MS :) Michael

Clean install on Inspiron
